"Real education means to inspire people to live more abundantly, to learn to begin with life as they find it and make it better"

Carter G. Woodson, The Mis-Education of the Negro

"The ends you serve that are selfish will take you no further than yourself but the ends you serve that are for all, in common, will take you into eternity."

Marcus Garvey

The quotes offered by Carter G Woodson and Marcus Garvey underscore the importance of education and humanitarianism and how both can be used for a better tomorrow.

It is incumbent upon every learner, critical thinker, and analyst to discover ways to improve life, to make tasks simpler and easier, while also recognizing the larger world around them, meaning the affairs of our people must also be the affairs of each other.

It is in the spirit of both quotes that Dema Dimbaya is offering two $1000 scholarships to be awarded to one male and one female that will assist with the finances of attainting higher education.  Candidates must be between entering college and achieving a PhD as well as must show proof of community service as well as submit a single page essay on how they will or currently use education and humanitarianism to strengthen our communities.

Applicants must create a profile on Bold.org.
